Assembly Winter 2017 has been brought to an end, with dizLown winning 2-0 (16-6 on Dust2, 16-10 on Overpass) over Outlaws in the grand finals.
Outlaws made their way to the grand finals of Assembly Winter by topping group A and then defeating iGame.com and Planetkey in the playoffs, while the French team dizLown finished second in group B after eliminating their countrymen Vexed and followed it up by beating Singularity and Rynnäkköviikset in bracket play.
The grand final series started on the soon-to-be-retired Dust2, where dizLown came out all guns blazing. With Paul "META" Moussajee and Julien "PetitSkel" Marcantoni contributing heavily, the French team had an easy job winning the first map 16-6 to take the lead in the series.
Lambert's AWPing was on point on Overpass
Outlaws won the Terrorist pistol round on the second map, Overpass, but went on a losing streak after failing to close out the following anti-eco. Lambert "Lambert" Prigent's AWPing was a key part of dizLown's A site defense that allowed them to finish the first half 13-2 up, with PetitSkel's rifling being the main force in shutting down the approaches towards B.
After the switch, Outlaws put up a solid fight from the defensive side, but a fast paced Tec-9 push from the French side caught them off guard and marked the end of their comeback as dizLown closed out the map 16-10 to win the tournament.
